Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 26, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SEOCHECK.io uses cookies and similar technologies, including browser storage, when you visit our marketing site, sign in, and use the dashboard.
What we mean by cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device. We also use similar technologies, such as localStorage, to remember choices you make in the interface. In this policy, we use "cookies" as a short way to refer to both cookies and similar browser-based storage unless the distinction matters.
How we use cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and browser storage for a limited set of purposes:
- to keep you signed in and maintain session security
- to remember interface preferences, such as dashboard sidebar state and width
- to remember your cookie-consent choice on the marketing site
- to measure site performance and usage trends
- to support checkout, fraud prevention, and account protection flows
Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the service to work properly. Without them, core account and dashboard features may not function.
Examples include:
- authentication and session cookies used by our sign-in system
- security-related cookies or tokens used during login, verification, password reset, and account-protection flows
- cookies used to persist dashboard UI state, including sidebar open or collapsed state and remembered sidebar width
Preference and functionality storage
We use browser storage to remember certain user choices.
Examples include:
- your cookie-consent choice stored in localStorage
- dashboard preference values that improve continuity between visits
Analytics and performance technologies
We use analytics and performance tools to understand how the site is used and how it performs. These tools help us improve page speed, reliability, and the overall user experience.
Depending on the page and environment, this may include:
- Vercel Analytics
- Vercel Speed Insights
- Sentry monitoring for error and performance diagnostics
These tools may collect data such as page views, browser details, device characteristics, coarse IP-based diagnostics, error information, and performance measurements.
Payments, fraud prevention, and external service flows
If you start checkout, authenticate with Google, or interact with anti-abuse protections, third parties may set or read their own cookies or similar identifiers.
This may include:
- Stripe for checkout and billing flows
- Google if you choose Google sign-in
- Cloudflare Turnstile if bot-protection is enabled on a flow
We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies for interest-based advertising on SEOCHECK.io.
Specific technologies we currently use
The exact names of cookies can change as the product evolves, but current examples include:
- session cookies used by our authentication system
sidebar_state, used to remember whether the dashboard sidebar is expanded or collapsedsidebar_width, used to remember dashboard sidebar widthcookie_consent, stored in localStorage to remember whether you accepted or denied the cookie banner
Third-party services such as Stripe, Google, Vercel, Sentry, or Cloudflare may use their own identifiers when their services are loaded.
Retention periods
Retention varies by technology and purpose. Current examples include:
- dashboard sidebar cookies are stored for up to 7 days
- authentication session cookies may remain active for up to 30 days, subject to sign-out, inactivity, or security controls
- email verification links and related verification flows expire after 14 days
- your
cookie_consentlocalStorage setting remains until you clear browser storage or change it through the site if that option is available
Third-party cookie retention is controlled by the relevant provider, not by SEOCHECK.io.
How to manage cookies
You can manage cookies in several ways:
- use the cookie banner on the marketing site to accept or deny optional cookie use where that banner is presented
- change your browser settings to block, allow, or delete cookies
- clear localStorage or site data from your browser settings
- use provider-specific controls, such as Google or Stripe privacy settings, where applicable
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent login, dashboard navigation, checkout, or other core features from working properly.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a Do Not Track signal. Because there is no consistent industry standard for interpreting that signal, SEOCHECK.io does not currently respond to Do Not Track in a uniform way.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or updated third-party services. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the date above.
